THE COURSE
A Golfing Journey Like No Other...
Sharing the historic grounds of Lytham Hall, Fairhaven provides a golfing journey like no other, bringing together the desirable links style challenges of the rolling dunes, fescue topped grasslands and revetted bunkers. Unlike other courses, it uniquely introduces a blend of heathland and parkland golf into its links features, providing a charismatic charm like no other golfing experience.
Designed by James Braid and local professional J.A. Steer, many of the testing features introduced at its creation are still present to challenge golfers of all abilities, particularly the humps and hollows that flank the majority of holes. Contrary to fable, there have never been 365 bunkers but there were certainly more than the present 118, as the original hollows were filled with sand until 1939.
Throughout its history, the Club has continually developed the course to ensure it maintains a stature of being a Championship Course, although in 1996 Justin Leonard took just 64 strokes to circumnavigate the challenges that so many of us struggle to navigate today.

Fairhaven Golf Club, listed in both ‘The Best 10 ‘Open Championship’ Qualifying Courses’, and ‘Great Britain & Irelands Best 10 Opening Holes’, is “a real hidden gem”, not only is it a beautiful place to play golf, but fully lives up to its designation as a ‘Championship’ course - Open Qualifying Professional
The Club can accommodate larger Visiting Parties subject to availability.
Our superb facilities include:
- Championship course in a tranquil setting
- Practice range, chipping area and putting green
- Well-equipped changing rooms
- Dining facilities which can accommodate over 140 guests
- Comfortable bar/lounge area with extensive bar menu
- Patio and balcony with superb views over the course
- Free wi-fi
Any visitor wishing to use thier own personal buggy must contact the General Manager in advance.
